a great weekend

Monday, May 29th, 2006

… but a bad weekend end. Why is it that vacations always end badly? You’d think this would deter some from taking vacations at all, but no. I spent the warmest weekend of the year so far in northern Minnesota on a beautiful lake with family and old friends and fiancee, but as soon as we all got home everyone was at each other’s throats, myself included.

SO relevant.

VISION

Friday, May 12th, 2006

Today was a long day.
[
This morning I met with Gallop Studio and secured an internship.
I also confirmed a time to meet Alec Soth next week.
Tonight, I spent three hours listening to Selina from Port Authority talk to a room full of aspiring and current media photographers at an ASMP meeting in Jake Armour’s studio.
That’s a lot of big names, at least in this city..

The meeting:

The name of the game is VISION.
Specific vision.
Get one and own it.
What defines you?
Why do you like what you like?
What is standing in the way? FEAR.
(I’m scared to death.)

I did a search for the original version of my name (Tvedten) and found, interestingly enough, that there are several other people in the world with this name, most of them in Norway. Three matches on google are artists:

www.tvedtenfineart.com

Go figure.
