Tired of weddings.

Sunday, June 25th, 2006

I was a groomsman in a wedding at the end of May, and had another one to attend three days later. Last Friday, I photographed my first wedding (I believe it was successful), so I was immersed in wedding culture much further than before. Yesterday, I had to attend yet another wedding in which Maria was an attendant. I’m tired of weddings.

Mine is in six days.

One-liners are awesome.

Mystery in Art

Thursday, June 15th, 2006

Recently, I have been realizing the importance that mystery plays in the success of art.

“Mystery is the will of art; if you could ever find the cause, you would be no longer interested.”
- Pablo Avendano

Deep thoughts, deep thoughts.

metro transit

On Minneapolis city busses, there are three “no-no” logos at the front of the bus:

1. no smoking
2. no hot dogs and no soda with two straws
3. no radios (or maybe no toasters?)

I like words.

I have found a word that perfectly describes my feelings toward politics.

welt·schmerz
Pronunciation: ‘velt-”shmerts
Function: noun
Usage: often capitalized
Etymology: German, from Welt world + Schmerz pain
1 : mental depression or apathy caused by comparison of the actual state of the world with an ideal state
