strange medical conditions
Sunday, January 28th, 2007I like learning about medical conditions which I have no experience with. I’d like to try one for a day. I might like to read this book sometime: Born on a Blue Day. The author has synesthesia; it causes him to visualize numbers. Pi, which he can recite 22,514 digits of, is the most beautiful of all numbers.
synesthesia - a sensation produced in one modality when a stimulus is applied to another modality, as when the hearing of a certain sound induces the visualization of a certain color
Another one that is vexing to me:
prosopagnosia - a.k.a. face-blindness, is a neurological condition that renders a person incapable of recognizing faces
